Social networking giant Facebook is working on a new app that allows users to share photos as part of a dedicated service, TechCrunch is reporting.
The publication reports the site is working on a new app entirely focused on sharing photos, one of the most popular activities on its main site. The app reportedly has the codename “Hovertown” or “WithPeople”.
The report comes as photo-sharing apps including Instagram and Color are gaining massive followings, with picture-focused blogs like Tumblr also attracting large user bases.
It also comes after Twitter has launched its own photo-sharing service to attract people using third-party solutions.
The new report claims the photo app contains location-based connectivity, face-tagging and the ability to make “likes” and comments as well.
