Sony has released its new handheld gaming device, the PlayStation Vita, at the E3 conference in California.
The device features a five-inch OLED touchscreen, two analog sticks and a six-axis motion sensor. The Vita is also powered by an ARM Cortex processor, and features 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity.
“One of the more important things we learned was about the trust and loyalty of our consumers,” executive deputy president Kaz Hirai said at the release event. “We know that the network experience is not only critical for home entertainment but it’s equally important for mobile entertainment as well.”
The release comes during a trying time for Sony – the company is still recovering from a major cyber attack that struck the firm and left millions of customers’ details at risk of breach.
