Motorola targets Android apps over performance issues

Electronics giant Motorola has said some Android apps are causing performance issues that have caused some users to return their handsets.

Sanjay Jha, chief executive of Motorola Mobility, has told the Bank of America technology conference that 70% of returned devices have seen apps affect performance, according to ComputerWorld.

“For power consumption and CPU use, those apps are not tested. We’re beginning to understand the impact that has,” Jha said.

“We are getting to the place that we should be able to warn you.”

Jha says the issue is that many applications drain power, and many users are not aware to the extent these will drain battery life.
