Electronics giant Samsung has reportedly applied to a Federal Court to inspect a number of Apple’s upcoming products including the next iPhone and iPad.
The application comes after the court ordered Samsung to provide Apple’s legal team with access to some of its unreleased products. Both companies are embroiled in a patent dispute.
According to All Things Digital, the discovery request asks that the court order Apple to show Samsung the next versions of Apple’s most popular products. It wants to know whether it can avoid any infringement suits by knowing in what direction Apple is heading.
Apple is expected to launch a new version of the iPhone and iPad later this year, but so far nothing has been released to the public.
