The new iPad may feature a Samsung AMOLED screen, and could be released as soon as the end of this year, a new report claims.
According to the Korea Herald, Apple chief operating officer Tim Cook visited South Korea to meet with Samsung officials on using the new AMOLED screen in its technology.
Currently the iPad features screens produced by LG, but the Samsung AMOLED screens offer a thinner and crisper alternative.
“Apple wants to tap into Samsung’s AMOLED technology for an upgraded version of the iPad 2, considered as many by the iPad 3 that is likely to be launched toward the end of this year,” a source informed the Herald.
The rumour comes after various other publications have claimed the iPad will feature an HD screen.
