New data from analytics firm ComScore has found Android is continuing to steal market share in the American mobile space, with Research In Motion losing the most ground.
The new figures show Android market share grew 6% in the quarter to March, reaching 34.7%, while RIM lost 4.5 points to 27.1%. Apple has increased its position to 25.5% but is still trailing behind the BlackBerry maker.
Microsoft held on to 7.5% of the market, while Palm only managed to maintain a 2.8% share.
Overall, ComScore found Samsung was the top manufacturer with a 24.5% market share. LG followed with a 20.9% share, with Motorola coming in third at 15.8%.
