A new report claims a second team has been added to Sony’s investigation of the network breach that occurred nearly two weeks ago, hiring private firm Data Forte.
Reuters reports the team is being led by a former Naval Criminal Investigative Search official, while the FBI is also investigating.
The move comes after legislators the world over have called on Sony to explain the breach, which has left the private details of millions of customers compromised.
US senator Richard Blumenthal wrote to Sony, requesting the company provide more information on how many credit card accounts were stolen.
“I would appreciate a direct and public answer detailing what the company will do in the future to protect its consumers against breaches of their personal and financial information,” he said, according to Reuters.
The Sony investigation is ongoing.
