NFC technology could be coming to the Windows Phone platform, according to new reports from Bloomberg.
The publication has cited two sources who predict that NFC, which is already available in many Android phones and is rumoured to be available in the next iPhone, will be a part of future Windows Mobile platforms.
NFC is a type of technology that allows two devices to communicate with each other when held very closely together. NFC is being used already as a type of mobile payments technology.
The rumour comes just a day after IDC predicted Windows Phone would be the number two platform, second to Android, by 2015. Such penetration could give Microsoft enough clout to introduce a full-blown payment system.
