More Android malware has been spotted by security experts, with a Chinese security firm finding two programs designed to affect Google’s operating system.
NetQuin mobile has written in its blog that two new programs, SW SecurePhone and SW Queting have been spotted targeting Android phones.
SecurePhone is mostly found in the US and is distributed through third-party networks, designed to run in the background of a phone and monitor activity including messages and call logs.
“Once the malware is installed on a user’s phone, it has the potential to receive commands from a remote server that allow the owner of that server to control the phone,” the company said in its blog.
Various security experts have warned that emerging operating systems, including Android, are becoming targets of malware as their popularity increases.
