As reported by Boy Genius Report, an internal build of the iOS 4.3 operating system reveals evidence that the next iPhone and iPad models could indeed do away with the home button.
This comes alongside separate rumours that suggest the iPhone 5 will have a totally new design when it is unveiled during the middle of the year at WWDC.
BGR has said the internal build features a number of new instructions for users under a new option to “turn on multitasking features”. Users are given the possibility to switch to the home screen using four or five fingers, while swiping to the left or right allows them to move between apps.
Swiping upwards allows users to view the multitasking bar.
While the notion of having to use four or five fingers to swipe to the home screen is curious given the display of the iPhone is relatively small, a new design may see the device given a larger display.
The report also comes alongside a separate rumour that suggests MobileMe will allow users to share continuous streams of photos with friends.
