A new report claims the News Corp Daily magazine will be delayed for several weeks despite earlier predictions an announcement would be held this week.
As reported by All Things Digital, “sources familiar with the companies’ plans” say the delay will occur because Apple needs more time to “tweak” the subscription services for publications that will be launched alongside the publication.
A new subscription feature for the App Store would be a massive benefit for publication developers, as subscriptions make up the bulk of their sales. The new Apple system would reportedly bill customers on a weekly or monthly basis.
The report claims News Corp has confirmed the delay, but would not offer any further comments.
