Internet giant Google has launched a science fair, which will see students around the world create projects and enter.
The company has said that students will need to compete in groups of three, and then set up a website in order to present their project online – this can be done through a Google portal.
There are specific contest rules as well, and students are being told they must conduct their experiment within 11 separate areas.
“Our hope is to create a new way for millions of students to pursue their interest in science through a global online competition,” director of global marketing for Google Apps and Enterprise Tom Oliveri told Information Week.
“The Web is cost effective… believe that science can change we world… We started with a scientific experiment about how to organise the world’s information.”
