Communications minister Stephen Conroy has launched a new “cyber safety help button” after a six-month trial.
“The internet offers our young people many exciting opportunities but there are also some dangers and the Help Button will provide valuable information for students, teachers and parents,” Conroy said.
“YAG members have been testing the Help Button and providing valuable feedback since June and now anyone can download it onto their computer at school or home.”
When the button is downloaded, it can be set to “hover” above other applications. Conroy says that users simply have to click and see whether they can report the material, or seek more information.
