New details for iMovie iPhone app

Last week tech giant Apple announced it would bring the iMovie software to the iPhone, but news site TidBits reports some features were left unannounced.

The site reports iMovie will require the iPhone 4 hardware to run, meaning it will not be available on the iPhone 3GS. The A4 chip will power the processing.

Additionally, iMovie software won’t run on the iPad due to the high-density screen needed on the iPhone 4. Projects edited on the iPhone cannot be transferred to iMovie on the Mac, either.

Video clips can be recorded directly within iMovie, or from the camera roll. The software itself will ship on June 24, alongside the iPhone 4 hardware.
