This iPhone app allows users to switch data between their smartphones by doing nothing more than bumping them together.
The app uses a type of location-based technology to determine when and where the iPhones are physically bumped together.
Users first choose what type of information they want to share, whether it be contact information, photographs or another piece of data. Then, they take the phones and bump them together gently.
The app then delivers information via the internet, with the developer’s servers determining when and where the two phones “bumped” together. Information is usually exchanged within about 10 seconds.
The app itself is a bit of a novelty, but more and more apps are actually integrating the bump feature to help share data, such as eBay’s PayPal app. Currently the app is free on the App Store.
