Tech giant Apple has delayed the shipment of a number of its MacBook computers with no explanation, leaving thousands of Apple fans disappointed.
However, a number of complaints registered on the Apple forums complaining about the screens on the new iMac 27-inch model are suspected to be behind the delay.
A number of users found the screens on their computers allegedly arrived cracked, produced a high-pitched tone or even contained some dead pixels. The majority of the posts are about the 27-inch model, but users have also expressed frustration with the 21.5-inch models.
The Apple Store has now been updated to say “Ships: two weeks” in regard to the MacBook computers. A spokesperson told tech site CNET the delay has been confirmed, but did not give a reason.
“The new iMac has been a huge hit and we are working hard to fulfil orders as quickly as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience or delay this may cause our customers.”
