A thief in the US city of Fort Loudon, Pennsylvania was caught by police after it was discovered he logged onto his Facebook page in the house he was allegedly robbing.
The occupant of the house discovered her house had been robbed on 28 August when she discovered open cabinets and a broken window, along with discovering two diamond rings worth over $3,500 were missing.
But in an astonishing move, the victim found social networking site Facebook was open on her computer, with the active user listed as one Jonathon Parker.
After police investigated, they found Parker was staying in the same area as the victim’s home. After speaking to a resident at a local address, police found Parker and he is now in custody awaiting trial.
The incident comes after a Melbourne restaurant owner helped police find several teenagers who left his business without paying their bills after locating their Facebook pages.
