Tech blog Boy Genius Report has published that the next version of Apple’s iTunes software will feature Blu-Ray support, as well as an organisation system for iPhone apps.
The report, which the blog specifies is based upon a “pretty reliable” source, states that iTunes 9 may also feature some type of integration with Twitter or Facebook.
The report does not specify how an application management system works, but it may include the ability to organise apps on the iPhone within the iTunes software itself, while some have predicted an “App Genius”, that recommends similar apps to the ones installed on your iPhone.
The integration with a social networking service comes after leaked documents from Twitter revealed the company and Apple discussed some sort of arrangement, but no other details have been made.
Some tech analysts have suggested integration with Facebook would update your profile with the title of the song currently playing, as well as a link to the iTunes store, opening up new revenue streams for Apple.
An announcement about the software could come next month, when Apple is expected to announce changes to its iPod lineup, including a new iPod Touch that comes with a camera and microphone.
