The Android operating system has moved from mobile handsets to netbooks, with new rumours suggesting the software could make the jump to portable multimedia players.
According to Gizmodo.com.au, a local distributor for Apple rival iRiver has said a new device is being developed to compete with the iPod Touch device.
According to the source, the player will come with a 3.5-inch touchscreen, Wi-Fi capability, a built-in web-browser, Bluetooth and even a digital TV tuner.
The gadget, which is reportedly called the K2, has no release date as of yet, let alone an official confirmation. iRiver devices have been popular among consumers looking to avoid the iPod-craze, but could the latest device be good enough to sway the converted?
