Just weeks after the social networking site ousted its chief executive Chris DeWolfe and set up a new executive team, it has reportedly dropped 45 employees in the past week.
According to TechCrunch, which regularly blogs on breaking tech news, the company has laid off a number of people with no official comment.
The blog has reported that the positions will not be filled by new employees. Last year it was confirmed that the site dropped less than 5% of its workforce and the cuts were “performance based”.
The rumoured cuts may have come as part of an executive shake-up, which has Owen Van Natta as the site’s new chief executive. More staff restructures may take place as the site attempts to regain lost ground from rival Facebook.
