Finance Minister Mathias Cormann says the "unbelievably generous" JobKeeper program will end, but struggling businesses will still be able to seek support.
The federal government will turn to tax cuts and post-JobKeeper income support as Australian households and businesses approach the so-called fiscal cliff in September.
JobKeeper payments are expected to go to 6.6 million Australians, in order to save the jobs of around one million. This gap creates an opportunity to extend the scheme.
