Commissioner of Taxation Chris Jordan called out "unacceptable" behaviour from small business operators that continue to avoid their tax obligations, saying there is "no licence to not pay tax" in Australia.
Small businesses received a $66 million reduction in disputed tax debts from settlements in 2018-19, about double the amount from last year, new figures show.
