Former tennis star Serena Williams recently revealed 14 companies that Serena Ventures has invested in have reached unicorn status, meaning the company is now worth over US$1 billion.

Tennis star Serena Williams has blasted The New York Times (NYT) for publishing a story about her capital-raising efforts to combat bias — that mixed up her and her sister, Venus Williams.

“Investors notoriously doubt female founders ... [and] Black founders contend with systemic inequity at each step of their journey,” said Serena Williams.
