Despite its importance, there is a generalised feeling of fatigue amongst women when it comes to IWD, predominantly due to the fact that corporate efforts seem disingenuous and fail to extend beyond one day.

And while we should definitely be keeping gender equality on the agenda 365 days of the year, I still believe that International Women’s Day is relevant in 2023 (and beyond). 

Each year, women have even more work added to their plates. They write editorials, organise and attend events, fight off internet trolls, and take hours out of their already busy lives to create awareness about a problem they never asked for in the first place… and then they are usually the ones who clean up after it all.

Each year, without fail we see tone-deaf platitudes and actually offensive content. Here are three of this year's biggest #IWD gaffes.
