You have more Gmail addresses than you think…

What do you do if you want to have a number of email addresses or aliases for when you sign up to different web services, but just one inbox to check them from? If you use Gmail, there’s a very simple answer.

Gmail automatically removes full stops from its email user names.

What this means is that a message sent to jane.example@gmail.com will end up in the email inbox for janeexample@gmail.com. Likewise, any emails sent to j.aneexample will end up in the inbox for janeexample.

In effect, what this means is, by creatively putting full stops at different points in your username, you can potentially have dozens of Gmail addresses all redirecting mail to your regular inbox.
