When Windows has gone awry, users have often relied on Safe Mode – a special mode where additional drivers are switched off – to fix the problem.
What you might not know is that Firefox has an equivalent feature. It switches off all the additional plugins you have installed on your system.
If your browser is playing up, this mode is perfect for troubleshooting whether a rogue plugin is the culprit.
To launch this special mode, go into the Help menu. Then choose the option “Restart with Add-ons disabled”.
A dialogue box will pop up. Click yes to this option. Firefox then will restart – without any plugins.
