Apple has just refreshed its line of MacBooks, and no doubt tech fans have already got their hands on one.
And even though the world’s largest tech company has updated the Mac battery life to a respectable seven hours, there are still plenty of ways for users to keep the life on their Apple computers extended for as long as possible.
First, you should calibrate your battery. Apple provides instructions for doing so here, and in order to do so you must first fully charge and then discharge your battery.
The Energy Saver preference panel is also your friend here – you can make sure the hard disk doesn’t spin unnecessarily or the display doesn’t turn on when you aren’t using it.
The display should also go to sleep when you aren’t using it as well. You can do that automatically by pressing Ctrl, Shift and Eject.
And finally, make sure you turn off your Wireless and Bluetooth features when you aren’t using them. Keeping these off will save a significant amount of time on your battery, and will ensure that your computer lasts for longer.
