Have you ever wanted to use an online service, but find you’re blocked by the service’s host country?
The most common complaint is from people attempting to use services like Hulu and Netflix in the United States – those services block any access attempt from outside the country.
The way you avoid that is by using a VPN, or Virtual Private Network. It works as a gateway, connecting you to an American server, and then to those services that you want to use. It’s also good if you want to make sure your internet usage isn’t tracked.
However, when researching VPN providers, be extremely careful. There are many free providers and they don’t offer the best protection, or bandwidth capacity. If you want to use services like Netflix, you’re going to end up paying a little every month – which is a good deal for the quality.
To start off, you should check out services like StrongVPN, or Spotflux, and then go from there.
