Do a Google search for just PDFs

Have you ever been in a predicament where you remember reading or downloading a PDF on some website, but now you can’t find it?

Well, there’s a simple way to track it down.

Go to the Google search bar in your web browser. Then, after your regular search terms, type in the phrase “filetype:pdf”.

For example, if you’re looking for a PDF about the economy of Armenia (for argument’s sake), you might type in “Armenian economy filetype:pdf”.

Instead of websites, photos and news articles clogging up the search results, Google will present you with just PDF files.

Likewise, type in “filetype:ppt” for PowerPoint, “filetype:xls” for Excel, or “filetype:doc” for Microsoft Word documents.
