The iWork suite, which contains the Pages, Numbers and Keynote apps, is a staple for many entrepreneurs using iPads. It’s one of the closest things you’ll find to an Office alternative on the device.
But many users don’t know how to connect their device to make it more useful. One of the ways you can do that is by associating it with a DropBox account to grab your files.
It’s an easy process, but you need to sign up with a DropDAV account. Go to their site, and then sign up for an account. You get a free trial for two weeks, but after that you’ll need to pay. Sign into your DropDAV account with your DropBox login features.
Then, open any program in the iWork suite and open a document. At the bottom of the page, select the export button and hit “Copy to WebDAV”. You’ll need to fill in your login credentials, including the server name “https://dav.dropdav.com/”.
After that, you’ll be able to upload files to your DropDAV account, which will sync across to your DropBox. This is as good a solution you’ll find for integrating with DropBox, as the programs don’t allow exporting natively.
