Sometimes, you will install a new device or driver on your computer and it will start playing up. In earlier versions of Windows, one way to troubleshoot or fix the problem was by going into safe mode.
With Windows 8, here’s how to do it.
First, get to the Advanced options screen of the Troubleshoot menu. If you’re not sure how to get there, here are the instructions.
It should look like this:
Tap or click on the Windows Startup Settings icon. You’ll be taken to a screen that looks like this:
Click on the restart button. Your computer will restart with a menu that looks like this. Make sure Safe Mode is highlighted and hit enter:
