Tinder has introduced verified profiles so when celebrities and athletes appear in your recommendations, you’ll know they’re real.
In a blog post announcing the move, Tinder says starting today you might begin noticing a verified symbol on some profiles.
“Each day, 26 million matches are made on Tinder, and we do our best to keep those matches real – that’s why we’re rolling out Verified Profiles,” the company says.
“Now when notable public figures, celebrities and athletes appear in your recommendations, you’ll know it’s for real.”

The device features a programmable array of red LED lights, two buttons, and a built-in motion sensor. It also has an add-on power pack fitted with AA batteries, which is required to use it as a standalone product.
Whipclip raises over $40 million
Whipclip, a US-based startup that allows users to quickly edit and legally share clips from TV and music videos, has closed a Series C funding round of more than $40 million, TechCrunch reports.
The round was led by asset management firm Eminence Capital and included participation from existing investors Institutional Venture Partners and Raine Ventures.
