Sydney-based transport and logistics website Only Logistics is up for sale, despite only launching in 2010, in an offer that includes all intellectual property, website domains and trademarks.
Only Logistics, founded and directed by Scott Carson, commenced as an Australia-wide service for business owners and managers seeking to sell or acquire businesses in the industry.
In addition to this, the online business allows self-employed transport and courier subcontractors to offer existing work opportunities to other contractors.
It also enables courier and transport companies to advertise permanent, casual, franchise or territory-based fleet positions.
Carson says he’s open to all offers for the business, which was profiled by StartupSmart earlier this year.
“I’ve got some opportunities outside the logistics industry in training and education, so what I want to do is sell the website… It’s ready for someone to take to the next stage,” he says.
“The meme is protected under trademark protection… It’s also got domain protection in New Zealand and internationally.”
In an email sent to StartupSmart, Carson said the sale includes all intellectual property, website domains, trademarks and a 1300 number.
“Arrangements are available for the new owner to continue to have the existing website provider/host continue to provide services,” he said.
“Or, alternatively, arrange for a transfer of the website hosting service to the new owner’s nominated service provider.”
Carson described the business as a great acquisition opportunity for a media organisation in the logistics industry, business brokers, “banner” advertisers or transport industry associations.
“Or even larger transport/courier operators to expand into the transport subcontractor and business buy/sell/fleet market in Australia,” he said.
“This website holds high page one rankings for a number of relevant key search words in Google and has a high level of automated functionality that allows [the] lister to self-build their listings.”
According to Carson, this includes a mix of free text and mandatory data and text fields, with the latter being transport-specific.
“The end result being a better quality listing with relevant information for viewers, rather than the lower quality and unstructured content that we continue to see on competitors’ websites,” Carson told StartupSmart in January.
“We also improved our ecommerce facilities on the website to facilitate lister payments for their listings to be SSL certified.”
Carson said at the time the business had a conservative revenue estimate of just over $100,000 for 2012, with a minimum growth rate of 20-25% each year for three years after that.
“The plan is to make it the most relevant website for transport and logistics operators… The challenge is to continue to build our relevance in the market,” he said.
“The service suits anyone, from a little transport company servicing the mining industry in Port Hedland right through to a container operator in Tasmania.”
