Perhaps spurred on by the apparent enthusiasm around That Startup Show and grassroots productions like Silicon Beach TV, Channel 10 is launching its own startup TV show and is looking for companies interested in taking part.
StartupSmart understands the new show (with a working title of “New Ventures”) is based on the popular Dragon’s Den, where wannabe entrepreneurs are given the chance of a lifetime when they pitch an idea to five rich and successful business leaders in order to secure financial investment from them.
It was not yet known which venture capitalists were taking part, or even if the format had been finalised.
In the meantime, producers have put out a casting call to interested companies who are looking to pitch to apply here.
Applicants need to submit their idea, the investment amount they are seeking along with the percentage of equity they are willing to give up. They are also asked a number of more personal details including any criminal history.
Applicants are encouraged to submit their pitch as soon as possible as there will soon be a national tour with a view to meeting with potential candidates in their nearest capital cities.
There was no confirmation as to when the show might run.
