Like lots of entrepreneurs, I always come to work with a to do list. Like lots of entrepreneurs, I almost always leave work with a number of those items still on that list.
But I’ve just been inspired by a webinar presented by Eve Ash from Seven Dimensions, who has given a great little anti-procrastination tool to start the day with.
It’s called the “Five Do Nows”. You pick five simple tasks that you must get done that day (call this person, set up that meeting, order that item) and set aside 15 minutes at the start of the day to get them done.
But here’s the wrinkle – you’ve got to do the tasks standing up. No sitting down where you can get distracted by other things.
The idea is that you quickly race through the tasks and launch in to your day with a sense of accomplishment. You feel that you can and you will complete the key things you need to do.
It’s a great idea and one that I’ll be trying for the rest of the week. You should do the same.
Get it done – today!
