Plan your big end-of-year clean up

The quiet time that invariably happens in most businesses towards the end of the year provides a great opportunity to get onto some of those jobs that you’ve been putting off.

There are lots of them.

Putting the contact details gathered from all those business cards you’ve collected across the year is a great example.

So is putting documents and other bits and bobs into storage.

But the job I urge all of you to tackle is the office clean up.

Tell your staff a week in advance that a certain day has been designated clean-up day. Tell them to wear some old clothes and get ready for an afternoon of filing, de-cluttering and even cleaning.

Make it a bit fun – choose someone to provide music, have some lollies to keep energy levels up and provide a prize for the person who can recycle the most stuff.

And then let everyone go home early after the job is done.

You’ll come back to a nice clean office next year and feel you can start the year afresh.

Get it done – today!
