River City Labs is encouraging budding entrepreneurs to attend Startup Weekend Brisbane in order to turn their innovative business ideas into a reality.
The event will be the fourth time that Startup Weekend has come to Brisbane, bringing together entrepreneurs, developers and designers together for a three-day hackathon.
Over the course of the weekend participants will form teams and develop an MVP with feedback from the likes of serial entrepreneur and Shark Tank star Steve Baxter.

Chris Drake, the founder of CarValues.co and the winner of Startup Weekend Brisbane last year, told StartupSmart that attending the event gave his early-stage company a much needed shot in the arm.
“In that weekend you’ll get more done than most people get done in a week or two weeks,” he says.
“It’s a really intense weekend where you’re competing against other people. That shot of adrenaline you get is really worth it and it’s a good way to get an idea off the ground.”
CarValues aims to help people find a car that is affordable and will suit their needs when it comes to market depreciation.
Drake says without attending Startup Weekend, the idea would never have gotten off the ground.
“It was just an idea I had for years and didn’t think much about,” he says.
“It was really just a way for me to say for a weekend let’s try a different idea and see what happens. We got really fortunate with that. It was only after winning startup weekend that I realised it was a proper, interesting startup that may work outside of Startup Weekend.”
Startup Weekend Brisbane will run from Friday 10 July to Sunday 12 July 2015. Tickets are available here.
