Melbourne-based milliner Kerrie Stanley and Sisko Chocolate founder Christina Tantsis have put a sweet twist on custom-made racing headwear: a fascinator adorned with chocolate.
“Loving this spring day, hatting away and later off to check on my collaboration with ‘the contemporary chocolatier’ Sisco Chocolate – a hat designed by me and made from chocolate,” Stanley wrote on her Facebook page.
The pink fascinator carries chocolate butterflies, interspersed with other colourful features, which is sure to turn heads at the races.
As the whole of Melbourne, and indeed the entire nation, gears up for Melbourne Cup, are there ways in which you can enhance your offering by tapping into the race day mania?
While a chocolate-filled fascinator isn’t exactly groundbreaking, both businesses are generating interest in the process. What other products could be paired with a national holiday?
Alternatively, are there other items that could be coupled with food to create something original? Chocolate-smelling clothing is already on the market. What other foods might warrant further consumption?
