MedTech’s Got Talent competition entrants pitch for place in semi-finals

Medical and health sector pitching competition MedTech’s Got Talent has chosen its top 30 entrants who will this week pitch for a place in the semi-finals.

The competition aims to develop and refine pitching and business concept skills, developing a technology roadmap and launching commercialisation activities for enabling medical technology innovations.

Spokeswoman Laura Faulconer told StartupSmart the entries included advanced medical devices, services and mobile health applications.

She says they touch on areas such as diabetes, helping people with disabilities or paralysis, sleep apnoea, aged care, sports technology and imaging diagnostics.

“There’s certainly a lot of really interesting ideas,” she says.

The 30 chosen entrants will pitch to mentors to be one of 14 semi-finalists who will go through a one month pitch training program.

They will then go to the final pitching event where five category winners will be announced. The winners will each receive a $20,000 voucher for intensive three-month accelerated technology road-mapping with their mentors, plus service prizes from technology sponsors.
