Fingerprint technology is spot on

start-up-idea-fingerprintFingerprint technology being trialled at a US college detects blood flow to make sure identity thieves can’t fool the scanner with a severed finger.

Students at Rapid City’s School of Mines and Technology in South Dakota are using the system to buy snacks, swiping a finger instead of a credit card.

It is one of the world’s first experiments in biocryptology. Receipts of purchase are sent to customers via email, with the system designed for mass use.

Perhaps there’s an opportunity to introduce similar technology here in Australia, not only in universities but in schools, workplaces and other busy environments.
