Controversial cosmetic range has the perfect Alibi

FragrancesA cheeky new South African range of fragrances, called Alibis, aims to put women off the scent of a cheating husband, suggesting there’s a market for cosmetics of a quirkier nature.

Among the choice of sprays available for men coming late is “I Was Working Late”, which smells of cigarettes, coffee, ink and wool suits.

“My Car Broke Down” smells of fuel, burnt rubber and grease, while the third scent, “We Were Out Sailing”, has the smell of fresh ocean spray, sea salt, cotton rope and aqua.

While the logic behind the fragrances is questionable, to say the least, it does indicate a demand for fragrances with a fun twist.

Consumers often feel overwhelmed by the sheer volume of cosmetics on offer, so any opportunity to stand out in the market should be snatched up with both hands.

If you’ve got a knack for marketing or a genuine interest in products that push the boundaries, novelty cosmetics could be the idea you’ve been looking for.
