How Taskforce Australia started

Taskforce started out servicing the warranty and installation needs of major lighting, fan and kitchenware brands. To deal with a network of more than one thousand tradies, it developed a job allocation and scheduling platform connecting local tradies in a timely fashion.

What the founders – including former Bathurst-winning racecar driver Jason Bright – didn’t realise was that they had inadvertently solved a massive problem for the real estate industry, as rental property safety compliance checks for smoke, electricity, and gas were ramped up in legislation.

Growth

Since its inception in 2021, Taskforce’s RentSafe platform has rolled out more than 140,000 jobs across 20 major consumer brands, 300 real estate offices, and 180 of the major real estate brands.

The early model was similar to HiPages, but Bright and Sallabank quickly realised what they had to do differently. Designing the ability to connect electricians, plumbers, tenants, property owners and property managers helped Taskforce Australia find its niche.

Where to next

Now Taskforce Australia’s eyes are set on the rental repair space. ‘RentRepair’ will target the clunky waste in property management maintenance, getting fast, quick quotes to get the ball rolling.

RentRepair is being pitched as Australia’s first broad-based subscription property maintenance service where an owner, property manager and tenant effectively have their own maintenance crew… no quoting, no extra cost, no wasting time – all for as little as $59 per month.

Taskforce Australia was shortlisted for the Innovation Award at The Smart50 Awards 2023.
