How it started

The founders of NEOLINK Logistics & Distribution saw a gap in the global freight forwarding and supply chain solutions business, and seized on the opportunity to fill it.

The traditional Aussie industry was lacking innovation, while the US market was shifting towards digital.

Noting the benefits and drawbacks of both models, NEOLINK founders Sean Crook and Christopher Makhoul set out to create an offering that had the best of both — the automation and AI applications of the new world of freight forwarding plus the personalised service and experience of the old.

Growth

NEOLINK now provides a range of global supply chain services to and from more than 800 cities and 200 countries around the world.

Since the business launched back in 2017, the founders say they have retailed 97% of their customer base, even throughout the challenging COVID-19 period.

NEOLINK also works regularly with more than 200 Aussie importers and exporters, and throughout the pandemic has ramped up business with both existing and new customers.

By the end of the 2021 financial year, the founders predict revenues will hit $30 million.

Where to next?

In 2022, NEOLINK is set to undergo a brand refresh, focused on driving greater awareness and increasing its reach in Australia. The team has been bolstering the back-office and customer tracking tech, and a new marketing strategy will allow them to showcase this in all its glory.

The founders are also planning on setting up an e-commerce warehouse facility in Sydney, while also expanding into additional markets and opening up offices overseas.

All of this could see the business’ headcount double over the next 12 months.
