Fast friends: even faster enemies. Power Players know this one by heart. That’s why they tread slowly when they decide somebody is completely and wholly trustworthy.
It takes time to size up a person, which is a good thing. Trust is a precious and rare connection to build and nice to know that once it’s been established you can count on it. The world is fast and most of us have lost the art of doing things slowly.
If we don’t like somebody immediately we tend to write the person off. Power Players know that some of the best friendships happen slowly. And the very best business partnerships are the ones that turn into friendships as well.
This is one you’ll blow a few times. Everybody has and you’ll feel like your judgment took a holiday without your permission.
Trust slowly. It’s an excellent Power Player tip.
