Power Players (because of their power) have a chance to deliver justice. If someone has been treated unfairly, Power Players can fix it.
The tricky part of this equation though is to know what constitutes justice. Heavy handedness is not it and the punishment must fit the crime. Being able to right the wrongs is power indeed, but it must be meted out fairly and without ulterior motive.
The very best Power Players are just and compassionate, and they are not afraid to step in when a situation needs to be addressed. They don’t overreact, they don’t grandstand and they don’t get pleasure from having to admonish someone else.
They do not worry about keeping the peace if they see they are needed. Sometimes a little ruffling of feathers is exactly what’s required. Peace at all costs is too high a price to pay.
