Hi Aunty B,
I have a number of staff owed long service leave. Can I make staff use? up their long service leave instead of annual leave ?if they have accrued large entitlements (over 100 days)?
Thanks in advance.
D.M.M,
Melbourne
Dear D.M.M,
Shot this off to Uncle Pete, who says yes? you can. Isn’t that amazing! Usually when you lot ask about industrial? relations the advice comes back as a no, or watch out or be careful? or don’t even think about it.?But today we have a yes! Except in Tasmania.
Uncle Pete says in ?Victoria, if no agreement can be reached with the employee, the employer? may give three months written notice requiring the employee to take long? service leave. The employee may be required to take all outstanding? long service leave or an amount agreed with the employer. For those of ?you in other states, you’ll need to check the notice requirements there.
Good luck!
