The Jobs Victoria Fund has helped owner of Eason’s Car Centre in Ballarat, Sarah Ryan, subsidise the wage of new employee Tania Vermeend.
Tania faced a challenging period looking for work before she was hired at the motor mechanic and vehicle servicing centre. Sarah says when Tania applied her resume ticked every box and an interview confirmed that Tania was the perfect fit for the job.
As a woman over 45 and someone who had been unemployed for an extended period of time, Tania was eligible for the wage subsidy program.
The wage subsidy gives Sarah assurance and peace of mind that whatever the next twelve months brings, Tania’s wages will be subsidised. And for Tania, she has job security in a workplace where she is valued.
The Jobs Victoria Fund is providing $250 million in wage subsidies to assist Victorian businesses to employ at least 10,000 people who are looking for work.
