Can I see if people comment on my photos?

Until recently, if you wanted to see who has commented on your Facebook photos, you needed to click on every single photo to find out. Talk about annoying! Currently you can only be sent email notifications if someone posts or comments on your page wall – everything else needs to be checked.

However, Facebook has now introduced a comment view for photo albums that lets you see the comments for each photo in the album in one easy view.

To see the comments, go to the photos tab on your page, click on the album you want to check for comments, then click the button to the left of ‘add photos’ (outlined in orange below).  This will give you a list of photos in the album with the comments next to them, plus at the bottom, all the comments on the albums.

Why bother checking?

Your business Facebook page is a place to start a conversation and build relationships, therefore if someone comments on a photo, you want to make sure that you respond, because:

  • They know you are listening and they are more likely to comment again
  • They feel acknowledged
  • They feel the love!
  • It engages them with your business and therefore your business will be more memorable to them

On Facebook, as with any social media network, you want to make people feel special and feel that you care. Responding to comments is one way to do this, plus you might discover some information that helps your business!

All Facebook page owners need to remember that Facebook is not a set-and-forget.

Your Facebook page is something you should be look at daily for comments, questions and responses.  You should be checking the wall (you can set up email notifications for this one), the discussions tab, the notes tab, photos tab, video tab and anywhere else someone could comment.  There is nothing worse than a customer or a potential customer being ignored.  You want them to feel positive about your business, and remember it positively – not as the place they asked a question and got nothing back.

Think of it as a conversation in the real world: if one person doesn’t respond, the conversation stops.
