Coffee retail chain Starbucks has announced more than three million users have paid for their products using the Starbucks Card Mobile app.
The mobile payments system was revealed just weeks ago, and allows users to pay for their coffee or other products by holding up their phone to a scanner.
Vice president Brady Brewer told shareholders at the company’s annual meeting that “Starbucks now offers the nation’s largest mobile payment network”, according to Mashable.
Schultz also said that mobile payments are one part of a strategy called a “blueprint for growth”, adding that the mobile application will help the brand grow as it diversifies into more types of packaged goods.
