MyBudget founder Tammy Barton has chalked up another win after being named female entrepreneur of the year in 2015, landing a finalist spot on the Telstra South Australian Business Woman of the Year Awards list in October last year.

Barton’s personal budgeting company MyBudget has continued to go from strength to strength with over 250 employees and annual revenue of $38 million, and Barton herself has become a regular media commentator on finance and budgeting issues.

Barton was also a Young Rich Lister in 2012, and has previously told SmartCompany building the business required a leap of faith, after she left a job at a local law firm.

But despite being the face of the MyBudget brand, Barton also acknowledges jobs can often be done better by other members of her team.

“I know we always think it’s done best by ourselves, but I feel fortunate in having people around me who are great at their jobs,” she said in 2013.
